Indians Top Moneymen to Even Record
|
Indianapolis beat New York on the strength of starter Duane Pérez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Pérez went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-2. The Indians bumped their record to 51-51 with this latest triumph.
Domingo Acarcon, who is a three-time All-Star, aided the Indianapolis cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.
"I thought we played a nice game," Pérez told the Indianapolis Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
