LumberJaxxx Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Mud Hens
The Great Black Swamp Mud Hens got a superb performance from pitcher Paul Fluellen, but the Ludington LumberJaxxx still won the game, 5-4. Fluellen was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Ludington reliever Daniel Bissonnette picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Tomás Quintero shouldered the loss. Ludington is now 72-28, 13˝ games up in the Patriotic League Independence Division.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Jack MacBride came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Great Black Swamp pitcher Tomás Quintero, he hit a 1-2 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ludington on top, 4-3.

"Baseball is about momentum," said MacBride, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
