Stalkers Walk Off with Win
|
The Iowa City Stalkers picked up a win at Hayden Fry Field, knocking off the Newcastle House of Brews, 2-1. Starting pitcher Will Lester played a key role in the triumph. Lester went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 11-7. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Stalkers.
David Peck, who is tied for 5th in the PL in home runs with 21, chipped in for Iowa City with a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
