The Warren Trojans beat the Dam Site Drifters, 8-4, at James R. Fouts Memorial Stadium. The Trojans got a fine performance from third baseman Tabito Takano, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mario Rojas picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-7. He struck out 7 in 5.1 innings. Todd Daniels notched his 4th save in 4 chances.
The Trojans got a big at-bat from second baseman Doug Scott. For the game, Scott went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Warren a 5-3 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Takano told the Warren Times.
Dam Site has now lost 8 straight.
