When Vaughan Daniels got to the ballpark today, he just knew it was going to be a special day.

The 33-year-old reliever was sitting just one save short of 400 for his career and anxious to reach that much-coveted milestone.

"I just had a feeling that today was the day," Daniels told reporters after the game, a 4-2 Ludington LumberJaxxx win over the Cummaquid Squids. "I was a bit nervous before the game, but there wasn't much time for nerves once I started to warm up."

The newest member of the 400 club pitched 0.1 innings, allowed no runs and no hits in his milestone effort.

Daniels has converted 400 saves in his career. Over 611 games he has compiled a 1.81 ERA, 46 wins, 33 losses and 1137 strikeouts in 756.1 innings pitched.
