Mud Hens Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Great Black Swamp Mud Hens relied on the hitting of designated hitter Nick Hernández to stop the Ludington LumberJaxxx, 7-6. For the game, Hernández went 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Great Black Swamp reliever Tomás Quintero was credited with the win, to go to 5-2. Vaughan Daniels took the loss for Ludington. Great Black Swamp is in 4th place in the Patriotic League Independence Division with a record of 44-48.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Yorikane Oyama, hit a single. It helped Great Black Swamp seize the win.
