Late Rally by House of Brews Secures Win
|
Newcastle first baseman Kaoru Fujihara made his presence felt in the 11-9 House of Brews triumph over the Asheville Boomsticks. Fujihara was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. This loss makes it 12 in a row for Asheville.
Franklin McCarthy was the walk-off hero for Newcastle. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the House of Brews designated hitter hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"This losing is getting old," said Asheville manager Jon Papp.
