Boomsticks Continue Skid Thanks to McCarthy, House of Brews
|
The Newcastle House of Brews trumped the Asheville Boomsticks, 10-4, at Moses Fleetwood Walker Park. Newcastle designated hitter Franklin McCarthy was named player of the game for his performance. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Doug Grimes picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-11. He struck out 3 in 5 innings. Asheville's current losing streak is now 11 games.
