Iowa City and Great Black Swamp got after it at The Nest.
The Iowa City Stalkers beat the Great Black Swamp Mud Hens, 6-3, at The Nest. Iowa City left fielder Bill Wagner earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Will Lester picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-6. He struck out 5 in 8 innings.
Wagner had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Stalkers went on to win.
"I felt good up there," said Wagner. "I saw the ball well."
Iowa City improves to 49-39 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.
