|
Newcastle rode a decent outing from starter Ben George to victory over the Asheville Boomsticks at Moses Fleetwood Walker Park. The final score was 6-2. Asheville has now lost 10 straight.
Chris Wells, who is tied for 7th in the PL with a .310 batting average, aided the Newcastle cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the third. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.
