LumberJaxxx Get Close Win Over Devil Cats
The Ludington LumberJaxxx picked up a win at Devil Cat Park, knocking off the Wicker Park Devil Cats, 5-4. Starting pitcher Lou Godfrey played a key role in the triumph. Vaughan Daniels notched his 23rd save in 24 chances. Ludington improves to 61-25 with the win. They lead their division by 10½ games.

The LumberJaxxx got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Patrick MacNeill. For the game, MacNeill was 1-1. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 63rd hit of the season gave Ludington a 5-4 lead.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," MacNeill said.
