Indians Lose to Turkey Vultures, 6-4
|
It was a good time at The Euclyptus Nest, where fans came to watch the Indianapolis Indians and Central Valley Turkey Vultures get after it.
The Central Valley Turkey Vultures topped the Indianapolis Indians, 6-4, in Nationalist League action at The Euclyptus Nest. The player of the game was Central Valley second baseman Matt Hohn. Juan Varela earned the win for Central Valley. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 10-4.
Hohn had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a 3-1 cutter from Keith Gómez, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Turkey Vultures a 5-4 lead. It was the 48th hit of the year for Hohn.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Hohn. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
Central Valley improves to 50-32 with the win. They lead their division by 4 games.
