Hitmakers Walk Off with 2-1 Win
|
The umbrellas came out during the Motown-Diablo Canyon contest at Old League Park.
The Diablo Canyon Tritium got a superb performance from pitcher Artie Jackson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Motown. The Hitmakers won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Jackson was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. The Hitmakers bumped their record to 42-38 with this latest triumph.
Adrián Ramírez, who is tied for 9th in the NL in extra base hits with 32, chipped in for Motown with a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"It was a solid team effort," said Ramírez after the game.
