Mud Hens Lose, 5-2, at The Stinger
|
The New York Moneymen defeated the Great Black Swamp Mud Hens, 5-2, in Nationalist League action at The Stinger. Paul Moore received player of the game honors. The 12-year veteran went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Eldon Knight earned the win to go to 3-5. He allowed 2 earned runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. The Moneymen bumped their record to 44-35 with this latest triumph.
Kazunari Gato, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in bases on balls with 49, chipped in for New York with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Moore said after the game.
