Devil Cats Lose, 6-5, at MDOT Park
The Potthole Pride defeated the Wicker Park Devil Cats, 6-5, in Nationalist League action at MDOT Park. Paco Niñor received player of the game honors. The 12-year veteran was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Potthole reliever Jesús Encarnación picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Ken Gamble took the loss. Don Dennis, credited with the save, is now 6 for 6 in save opportunities.

In the bottom of the 6th, center fielder Jamie Phillips gave Potthole the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Pride had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out double off Wicker Park pitcher Ken Gamble changed that -- and Potthole went on to win.

"It was a solid team effort," said Niñor after the game.

Potthole is now riding a 3-game win streak.
