Boomsticks Lose, 7-2, at The Squid's Beak
|
The Cummaquid Squids topped the Asheville Boomsticks, 7-2, with right fielder Jeff Cornish playing a big role. Cornish was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times for the Squids in the win. Chris Gregory earned the win to go to 5-11. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. The Squids' win now puts them at 32-48.
Rubén Córdova aided the Cummaquid cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
