The Pride had to overcome a fine effort from Wicker Park pitcher Bob Gilbert to grab a narrow 5-4 win at MDOT Park. Gilbert went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Even with the win, the Pride have a dismal 20-59 record.

Had Paco Niñor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Niñor hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Pride.

"I was a little disappointed," said Wicker Park manager Nick Angelocci. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
