Asheville beat Potthole on the strength of starter Rodney Mendoza's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. Bill Chambers converted his 1st save in 1 tries. Asheville has now won 4 games in a row.

The Boomsticks got a big at-bat from catcher Javier Cruz. For the game, Cruz went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Asheville a 3-0 lead.
