Renegades Win at Central Valley, 7-5
|
Texas and Central Valley duked it out at The Euclyptus Nest and the Renegades came out victorious.
The Texas Renegades grabbed a 7-5 win over the Central Valley Turkey Vultures at The Euclyptus Nest. Texas left fielder Sancho Pereira went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 to earn player of the game honors. Hugh Fleury earned the win for Texas. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 6-6. Sergio Pagán notched his 10th save in 10 chances.
Augusto Ramírez aided the Texas cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Ramírez.
Even with the win, the Renegades have a dismal 25-52 record.
