Boomsticks Lose, 6-3, at Moses Fleetwood Walker Park
|
The Newcastle House of Brews picked up a win at Moses Fleetwood Walker Park, knocking off the Asheville Boomsticks, 6-3. Starting pitcher Ben George, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The House of Brews now have a record of 34-38.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Howard Garrett didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Asheville trailing 4-2, Garrett retired Benjamin Garrett to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Garrett, with a wink.
