Hitmakers Slip Past Potthole, 8-7
|
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Bernardo Ruíz, the Potthole Pride suffered a 8-7 loss to the Motown Hitmakers. Ruíz was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Archie Turner was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 18 save opportunities. The Hitmakers bumped their record to 37-35 with this latest triumph.
Adrián Ramírez, who is tied for 8th in the NL in home runs with 16, chipped in for Motown with a solo home run in the top of the 11th. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"Enjoyed this one," Ramírez told the Motown Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
