Turkey Vultures Get Close Win Over Fishers
|
Fans who gathered at Carp Coliseum saw a good contest between the Central Valley Turkey Vultures and Wildwood Fishers.
Juan Deviedma was instrumental in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Wildwood Fishers. The right fielder was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Central Valley Turkey Vultures. Central Valley reliever Shawn Teske picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Stefano Stefaneschi took the loss. Reynaldo Morán was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 23 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Central Valley, had it not been for Joe Winstanley, the 31-year old third baseman . Winstanley contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Central Valley up, 6-5.
"Enjoyed this one," Deviedma told the Central Valley News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Central Valley is now 44-28, 4˝ games up in the Nationalist League Stripes Division.
