Devil Cats Win at Texas, 7-3
|
The Wicker Park Devil Cats grabbed a 7-3 win over the Texas Renegades at The Cavern. Wicker Park left fielder José Pérez went 3-5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Conner Charles converted his 14th save in 15 tries. Wicker Park, at 32-39, occupies last place in the Patriotic League Independence Division.
The Devil Cats got a big at-bat from right fielder Freddy Boyd. For the game, Boyd was 1-5 with a double. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 15th double of the season gave Wicker Park a 1-0 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Pérez said after the game.
