Turkey Vultures Edge Past Stalkers, 4-3
|
The Turkey Vultures had to overcome a fine performance from Iowa City pitcher Ken Russell to grab a 4-3 win at Hayden Fry Field. Russell allowed 1 earned run over 7.2 innings. The Turkey Vultures bumped their record to 41-26 with this latest triumph.
Late-game drama came in the top of the 13th inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Shigekazu Nakano, hit a single. It helped Central Valley seize the win.
Nakano attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
