Victory Over Stalkers Takes Central Valley to 40-26
|
With second baseman Matt Hohn leading the charge, the Central Valley Turkey Vultures defeated the Iowa City Stalkers, 5-2, at Hayden Fry Field. Hohn was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Central Valley goes to 40-26. The win puts them 5 games up in their division.
It could have been a different outcome for Central Valley, had it not been for Joe Winstanley, the speedster . Winstanley contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Central Valley up, 5-1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Winstanley said after the game.
