Atlanta Takes 3-2 Lead in Ben Franklin Cup
|
The Atlanta Peaches moved to within one game of the George Washington Trophy today, downing the Nashville Nightmare on the road at Flaming Ashes Ballpark by a score of 4-2. Peaches designated hitter Ken Schroeder was named player of the game after he was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Peaches a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Ben Franklin Cup.
Schroeder had a critical at-bat in the top of the fifth for Atlanta, coming through with a run-scoring single to put Atlanta in front, 2-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Atlanta manager Joe Koralewski.
Game 6 is set to be played Wednesday, October 26th, 2050. Slated to start are Nick Myers for the Nashville Nightmare and Mike Gabbard for the the Atlanta Peaches.
