Texas catcher Aubrey Kemp pounded Ypsi Yard Cats pitchers at The Squid's Beak, but it was not enough to keep the Renegades from falling, 6-5 in Game 1 of the Alexander Hamilton Cup. Kemp went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, though he couldn't keep the Renegades from slipping to a 1-0 deficit in the best-of-7 series.

Jon Rouillard, who led the TTWB in triples with 15 in 2049, aided the Ypsi cause with a 2-run triple in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Ypsi Yard Cats (probably) 2052 George Washington Trophy Champions'," Rouillard told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sunday, October 13th , 2052.
