Hitmakers Clip Devil Cats 2-1 in R2 Contest
|
The Motown Hitmakers nearly wasted a strong game from starter Bob Buckley, but were saved by some timely hitting in a walk-off win over the Wicker Park Devil Cats today.
Buckley threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The win allowed Motown to force a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 Alexander Hamilton Cup.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Motown right fielder António Paredes, facing Feng-xiang Shuang, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Hitmakers the 2-1 win.
Buckley said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thursday, October 17th , 2052.
