| Newcastle Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-1 | The Newcastle House of Brews have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Wicker Park Devil Cats, winning 6-3 at Moses Fleetwood Walker Park today. House of Brews right-hander Dave Garrett was named player of the game after he threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the House of Brews to 3-1 in the best-of-7 Alexander Hamilton Cup.
Newcastle took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, center fielder Terry Turner hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"It was a solid team effort," said Garrett after the game.
Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow in Newcastle. The scheduled starters for the game are Horace Bush for Wicker Park and Jimbo Cook for Newcastle.
