Clerya Moves on to Round 2
The Clerya Sandstorms "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Round 1 and eliminating the Naubinway Mariners, according to series MVP Joaquín Vázquez.

"This is the big stage, we're off to the Round 2 and looking towards the Round 2," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine."

Clerya won the final game 4-3, to wrap up the series 3-1.

Vázquez led his team to the series win by putting up a .444 average, with a .474 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Clerya Sandstorms don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Savannah Scouts - Mount Pleasant Mountaneers series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
