Turkey Vultures Come Up Short at Iowa City, 3-2
|
Iowa City and Central Valley took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Iowa City picked up a win at Hayden Fry Field, bumping off the Central Valley Turkey Vultures, 3-2. Pitcher Ryan Durango was a major reason the Stalkers emerged victorious. With the win, Iowa City pushed its record to 83-77.
Héctor Quintero was 1-2 for Iowa City. The 26-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Matt Thomas. It was his 82nd RBI of the season.
Durango called the triumph "a good team win."
