Boomsticks Win at Indianapolis, 5-2
|
The Asheville Boomsticks beat the Indianapolis Indians, 5-2. Asheville pitcher and Panchiao, Taiwan, native Lien-ying Xun led the way. Steve Emery, credited with the save, is now 37 for 40 in save opportunities. The current losing streak for Indianapolis has reached 4 games.
Asheville used the bat of Hayden Wells to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Boomsticks ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Wells told the Asheville Gazette.
