Turkey Vultures Win 4th Straight, Take Down Nightmare, 5-1
|
Central Valley picked up a win at The Euclyptus Nest, toppling the Nashville Nightmare, 5-1. Pitcher Ken Richard was one of the reasons the Turkey Vultures triumphed. In 8.2 innings, Richard surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Flint Hardy was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 12 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the first, Edgardo Hernández hit a 2-run home run. The 14th home run of the season for the Central Valley third baseman put the Turkey Vultures on top, 3-1.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Hernández.
Central Valley is now riding a 4-game win streak.
