Led by Kisho Gato, the Phoenix Downs defeated the Letterkenny Shamrocks, 6-3. Gato went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Downs. Phoenix starter Jason Foster was credited with the win after throwing 115 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 7-4. Brett Fitzgerald converted his 25th save in 29 tries.

Phoenix used a well-timed hit by Júlio Núñez to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Downs ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Phoenix manager Walt Partlo.

Phoenix now has a record of 80-76 with the win.
