Indians Score Late, Stun Renegades, 3-1
|
Indianapolis and Texas duked it out and the Indians came out victorious.
The Indianapolis Indians got a magnificent performance from pitcher Holden Mann, who muffled the Texas offense en route to a tight 3-1 Indians win at The Cavern. Newton Abraham was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 4 save opportunities.
Tyler Phillips provided a timely hit. The Indianapolis third baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Indians on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Phillips told a Indianapolis Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
The victory puts Indianapolis at 57-98.
