Phoenix Sneak By Stalkers, 3-2

The Reykjavik Phoenix topped the Iowa City Stalkers, 3-2, in To The Wall Baseball action at Hayden Fry Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Reykjavik pitcher Arturo Cintrón. In 8 innings, Cintrón surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Herman Nance, credited with the save, is now 19 for 26 in save opportunities.
Reykjavik used a timely hit from Carlos Torres to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Phoenix ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Torres.
The Phoenix go to 62-93 with the win.
