Boomsticks Deal Phoenix 5-2 Loss
|
Asheville and Reykjavik duked it out and the Boomsticks came out victorious.
Asheville Boomsticks starter Dale Fleming hurled his team past the Reykjavik Phoenix, 5-2. Fleming, now 13-7, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 11, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.
John Dunsmore, the slugging right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Dunsmore contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Asheville up, 1-0.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Dunsmore. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
Reykjavik has now lost 9 in a row.
