5-2 Loss to Red Birds Extends Letterkenny Losing Streak
|
The Columbus Red Birds got a stellar performance from pitcher José Soto, who handcuffed the Letterkenny offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Letterkenny Memorial Ballpark. In 6.2 innings, Soto surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Yosai Kato was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 7 save opportunities.
Ricardo López, the four-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. López contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Columbus up, 4-2.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said López.
The losing skid has reached 8 games for Letterkenny.
