Boomsticks Get Past Central Valley for 4-3 Win
Behind a fine performance from Juan Paredes, the Asheville Boomsticks knocked off the Central Valley Turkey Vultures, 4-3. Paredes was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Boomsticks. Steve Emery earned his 31st save in 33 chances. With the win, Asheville pushed its record to 74-65.

It could have been a different outcome for Asheville, had it not been for Javier Peña, the 26-year old center fielder . Peña contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Asheville up, 4-3.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Asheville manager Jon Papp.
