Asheville used a superb performance from starting pitcher Walter Johnson to down the Iowa City Stalkers, 6-0. With the victory, the Boomsticks upped their record to 67-61.

Johnson was in the zone all game. He frustrated Iowa City hitters while giving the Boomsticks 7 innings of quality work. Johnson threw 100 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 10 punchouts.
