The Ypsi Yard Cats weathered a fine game by Wildwood designated hitter Seinosuke Watanabe to upend the Fishers, 8-5, at Carp Coliseum. Watanabe went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. António Hernández was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 20 save opportunities. Ypsi now has a record of 78-43 with the win.

Lorenzo Hernández, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Ypsi cause with a 2-run double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 5 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Hernández told the Ypsi Daily News.
