Downs Topple House of Brews with Late Rally

Phoenix pitcher Ken Finch did his part in helping his team beat the Newcastle House of Brews, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Finch, now 6-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. Phoenix has now won 3 in a row.
Phoenix used the clutch hitting of Gary Gonzáles to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Downs ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Finch said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
