The Motown Hitmakers got a sterling performance from pitcher Bartolo Sánchez, but the Ypsi Yard Cats still prevailed, 3-2. Sánchez threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Ernesto Santiago, credited with the save, is now 8 for 12 in save opportunities. With the win, Ypsi raised its record to 70-40.

Ypsi used the timely hitting of Francisco Dávila to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Yard Cats ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Dávila, cracking a smile.
