The home crowd had a good time watching the Phoenix Downs and Ypsi Yard Cats get after it.

The Ypsi Yard Cats picked up a win at The Squid's Beak, knocking off the Phoenix Downs, 5-1. On the mound for Ypsi was left-hander Todd Brown, who played a pivotal role in the win. Brown went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 12-4.

Lorenzo Hernández hit a run-scoring double off Ken Finch in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Yard Cats in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Hernández had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ypsi manager Patrick Holt.

The Yard Cats have an impressive 67-40 record.
