Turkey Vultures Get One-Run Win at Nashville
|
Central Valley Turkey Vultures starter Ken Richard pitched a strong game against the Nashville Nightmare at Flaming Ashes Ballpark, leading the Turkey Vultures to victory, 2-1. Richard, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The victory makes Central Valley 36-71.
Central Valley needed the clutch hitting of Ken Moore to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Turkey Vultures on top, 2-1. For the game, Moore had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Central Valley manager Tony Meyer. "Our pregame was pretty good."
