The Wicker Park Devil Cats defeated the Texas Renegades, 3-2, in To The Wall Baseball action at The Cavern. Wicker Park pitcher Arnold Smith had a standout performance. Qian Mai got the save, his 21st in 24 chances. With the win, the Devil Cats have a record of 55-46.

The Renegades had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Devil Cats going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old shortstop Donnie Ross came to the plate. Ross hit a solo home run on a 2-2 changeup from Texas hurler Felipe González. It was Ross's 1st home run of the year.

"We'll savor this win," Ross told the Wicker Park Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
