The Boomsticks faced a stiff challenge from Great Black Swamp pitcher José Molina, but persevered to claim a win at The Nest. The final score was 1-0. Molina went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. The win boosted Asheville to 50-46.

It could have been a different outcome for Asheville, had it not been for Júlio Bautista, the 30-year old left fielder . Bautista contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Asheville up, 1-0.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Great Black Swamp manager Casimir Koralewski. "The effort was great."
