The Ypsi Yard Cats got a stellar performance from pitcher Todd Brown, who handcuffed the Nashville offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Flaming Ashes Ballpark. Brown, now 11-3, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Ernesto Santiago converted his 6th save in 9 tries.

Ypsi relied on the hitting of Jaime Batista to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Yard Cats on top, 2-1. For the game, Batista had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We've got a great group of guys," Batista said, "and we're having fun right now."

Ypsi raised its record to 61-36 with the win.
