|
The Wildwood Fishers grabbed a win, 5-4, over the Reykjavik Phoenix at Carp Coliseum. Wildwood center fielder Al Kaline was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Javier Ramos earned the win for Wildwood. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. José Morales got the save, his 14th in 16 chances.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Kaline, who is tied for 10th in the TTWB in triples with 5, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Fishers into the lead, 5-1.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Kaline said.
The Phoenix, at 40-55, have lost 5 in a row.
