|
The Diablo Canyon Tritium got a sterling performance from pitcher Jared Bergeron, but the Letterkenny Shamrocks still prevailed, 4-3. Bergeron threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Driscoll Peaty converted his 21st save in 23 tries. Letterkenny is now 43-50. Diablo Canyon is 33-61.
Ángel Lópes, who led the TTWB in stolen bases with 81 last year, chipped in for Letterkenny with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We think we're a good team overall, so we're not too surprised to win today," said Lópes.
